Test Summary

Perception refers to people's capacity to interpret the information that their various senses receive from their surroundings. In particular, visual perception is the ability to perceive our surroundings through the light that enters our eyes and structure visual stimuli based on colour, position, form, pattern, texture, and size.

The current test is designed to measure a candidate’s ability to detect and classify differences in objects, symbols or shapes based on colour position, form, pattern, texture, and size. It contains questions meant to assess whether candidates can focus on objects without being distracted by irrelevant background stimuli, recognise objects from their surroundings, and quickly observe objects, shapes, and symbols and determine what they are even if they are partially visible.

The test is timed and in a multiple-choice format.

Test Outcomes

This test will help identify candidates who may be able to:

  • Filter visual information that is not important to focus on the relevant visual information.
  • Pick up on details while ignoring extraneous visual information.
  • Categorise and sort objects, organise materials, label items and predict characteristics of an object.
